This class will break down the different yoga systems to make learning these forms simple and easy. Hand outs will be given on everything we will cover and will build a nice functional workbook. These systems overlap each other to give us a much greater understanding of posturing, breath, and flow of energy.
Much of the information used belongs to the American Bando Association and is intended as a supplemental aid for the participants in this class only

Explore the possibilities of yoga through systems which complement each other while cultivating and maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Chakras, or wheels, of subtle energy are located throughout the body. Good energy flow is vital to health and wellbeing and can be affected by practicing yoga postures and mindfulness techniques. When the chakras are clear and open, the body functions better and patterns and habits can become clearer. Experienced yoga instructor, Dave Martin will lead participants through yoga poses and practices, sometimes using provided props such as staffs and ropes. Although this class is appropriate for all levels, dedication and enthusiasm for serious yoga practice is requested. Participants will also receive various hand-outs and materials for yoga practice at home. Beginning Classes Itinerary
Sept. !
Short Dhanda – how to align the three zones in the back for posturing and breathing.
Long Dhanda - A series of postures to align, strengthen, and stretch the spine
The “Communion Form” – A form moving with breath. Similar to Chi Gong with transmit ion and storing of energy.
Handouts will be provided however you will need your own notebook and pen
Sept 8
Fixed Standing Longi- outside if appropriate weather and place.
Seated Longi – series with proper posturing and breath.
Seated Dhanda – how to approach Dhanda with mudras, short meditations or focuses, a series of postures using the leverage of the Dhanda to align the spine.
